When we embrace the cyclical rhythms of nature we go on a journey of deep discovery. In the deep depths of Winter, when many of the trees are bare, plants have retreated to their roots under the protection of the soil and animals are hibernating, it’s time for us also to slow down and retreat, to ‘hibernate’ along with nature, to go deep inside ourselves on a journey of self-discovery and renewal.

The Winter months are when the water element is at its peak. Like the mysterious darkness within the depths of water, it’s time to look deep inside ourselves, into the hidden recesses of our soul and the memories and gifts waiting to be discovered and revealed.
The water meridians hold onto the vision of our dreams and our deep emotions, those which we need to explore more deeply to understand ourselves, those which are coaxing us towards our dreams, and those that we fear.
When we are balanced in this element we are in the flow of life. We are flowing with vitality, strength and will power. When out of balance we can be in a fearful and anxious state.

Our bodies just like the relationship of the land mass to the oceans and rivers should be 80% water. Water transmits messages from one cell to another. When we are hydrated, our vibration is high and our chakras are clear and balanced, the ‘waters within us’ flow purely and freely. When we are carrying negative emotions, toxic thoughts and memories the flow can be interrupted, stagnant or slow.
The bladder and kidney meridians make up the water element and naturally these organs help to regulate and store the flow of water within our bodies. Physical aliments within these organs of the body or blockages in the energy meridians can result from stagnate, unprocessed or fearful emotions.

Healing from trauma, anxiety & fear
To heal from anxiety and move away from fear we need to uncover the emotions and memories which are causing us to be stuck, to find the tools and healing processes which will allow us to move away from these negative states and to a place of peace and love.
Healing deep fear and anxiety can take us on a painstaking journey of exploring our past, childhood, ancestral patterns and past lives. The healing methods can be wide ranging from breathing techniques, to karmic release, releasing tension and trapped energy held around the spine, to re-setting our view of the fear or trauma through techniques with eye movement.
An everyday technique to relieve yourself of stress and anxiety - Emotional Stress Release (ESR)
This technique can be used whenever you want to feel a release of negative emotions. Gently place the tips of your fingers on either side of your forehead, on the raised points which are roughly above the middle of your eyes.
Holding these points can help to calm your system down. You can hold these points for as little as a few minutes or for a much longer period like 20 minutes. You can close your eyes or keep them open, sit comfortably or lie down. You can add to this technique by playing soothing or high vibrational music, envisioning yourself surrounded by a colour which makes you feel positive or happy and imaging any negativity, anxiety or fear being carried away up to the sky to be transmuted into a glowing golden light.
With love and light on your healing journey.
One of the natural healing disciplines within which Kinesiology is rooted, is Chinese medicine. In Kinesiology we work with the meridians - a delicate and intricate web of interconnecting energy lines carrying life force energy, which influence every organ and physiological system in the body. These meridians are grouped within the five-element theory, which explains transformation and change within nature and the body through the characteristics of five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
